Congradulations to Mary! She is the proud owner of the Red Butterfly Purse she has been watching for months! I was surprised it didn't sell sooner, but now I know why! It was meant to be Mary's. When I make each purse I often think of who will carry and cherish this particular bag. They are one of a kind and special indeed! Thank you Mary!

My brain had a storm! I keep thinking of new products to make but must stay focused on completing projects. I have about 7 more purses to complete, then onto a few new items. Stay tuned!
2012 had many photo shoots for magazines like Cowboys and Indians, Cowgirl Magazine, True West and Canadian Cowboy magazine. So much fun!! This year we look forward to Rodeos, horse shows, western art shows and maybe Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas! I'll post here my line up.
Let me know if you need something custom made.
Winter love and frosty hugs!

I loved making this purse! The boots were made by ariat with a vintage looking cowgirl on a bucking horse.
It's probably the only one I'll make as the design process was long dealing with all the intricate details on these boots. Send this picture to all your cowgirl buddies! Let me know if you need anything custom (it's too late for Christmas but January is just around the corner!)
Did you go to NFR and Cowboy Christmas? What was your favorite exhibit, event or products?
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all my cowgirl sisters! It's always fast and fabulous this time of year for me. Custom purses are at it's height of production to make a special gift from loved ones that will live on forever.
Cowboy and Indian magazine requested 3 of my purses for their upcoming photo shoot so you may notice 3 of the purses listed are available for purchase but won't be able to be shipped until after Christmas.
Let me know soon if you would like a custom purse, this week is the last week to order.
I have many new feather earrings in stock in AMAZING colors!!
Also I have a few signs available. $15 each.

I've also created some unique pendants and buckles with vintage jewelry parts and fun trinkets. They are $45 each. I will list them soon. You can contact me directly if you'd like pictures of the current stock.
Looking forward to lots of creative work in the next 4 weeks.
Merry Christmas to all!

I made some purses from Corral Cowboy Boots. It just so happens I have matching boots. You can see pictures at our previous blog "photo shoot". So we've got red with swarovski crystals and leopard print hide, black vintage boots with pink and blue inlays with stars and a classic brown with sky blue stitching and of course more swarovski crystals.
I have some booties to match, but they are limited.
I updated the feather earrings which are quite stunning! Which are your favorites?

All the smell of frost is in the air here in Oregon! And on the pumpkins, corn and gourds! But learning to love and appreciate all the is provided to us is a great blessing in my life.
I've completed 7 new purses and about 15 more in stages of "doneness".... I have so many ideas swirling around in my head of new creations that sometimes I think it's going to bust open! I have an apprentice now. Camry Summers. She's deligtful, precise and quirky. She is amazing and I'm looking forward to being able to create more projects with her help.
If you have custom purses you'd like made for the holidays please get them to me soon so I have plenty of time to create a special heirloom purse for your loved one (even if that's you!).
Here's some of the new purses. Had a run on dark red/mauroon with many different variations!
Email whenever you want! I'll be looking forward to it!

I will be at the world renowned Cracked Pots show at Edgefield July 24-25th. It's a free show to attend. There are amazing things from all over that will displayed and for sale. This entire event is for recycled products only! You'll be amazed and learn a lot about it also. I will have a purse in the contest! Check it out!

I love this purse! The perfect green reminds of the grassy fields my little mini's
are grazing in. Almost taller than my stallion, he thinks it's an all you can eat buffet! Not for you little, guy. Back to the short pasture after a few hours.
This bag made me smile all through the creation process, which has been long! I used curb chains on the handle with leather straps. For the few of you who might not know what that is, it's chain that attaches to the curb bit of a western bridle (and others), and fits under the chin of the horse. This gives extra control and leverage to the handler
.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
I finished about 8 pairs of booties and will post them later today.
I'd love to hear from you! Leave me your comments, wishes, hopes and dreams!
Happy Trails,
Sue

Ok, I will admit it! I'm a boot whore! But, really, if you were going to be a whore, what better kind?
I do love the Corral boots. I own this one, black with inlay butterfly in turquoise, red, yellow. Yummy to my soul! Well, I happen to find some matching boots on my adventures around the world. I brought them home, hugged them, kissed them, and tucked them in their box. Last week, I realized it was time to create a bold, yet shameless matching cowboy boot purse for my but kicking, fun loving Corral boots. So I bravely, boldly yet with considerable intrepedition, pulled out my razor cutter and carefully placed it on the boot. The first cut is the painful part. Then, there's no turning back. I t's hard to express the enchanting delight of spunky cowboy boots and matching bag. Wanna give it a ride? Let me know and I'll tell you how.
Happy Trails,
Sue

Well, by popular demand, here is the red zig zag cowboy boot purse! My lovely friend and fan of cowboy boots, happened to be taking a stoll through my shop and spotted a red purse that sang the words to every Elvis Presley song she ever loved, straight to her heart! Dramatic? Yes! But that happens sometimes. She grabbed them, hugged them and wrote me a check! Thank you, Char! I love you and your money, honey. Happy Trails!

I've taken some creative yet whimsical creative liberties in my shop recently, creating the zippy zig zag in red and the fearless black lady biker spider bag! It's amazing the boots you can find. I think that's the number one question people ask me. "Where do you find all these boots?" Well, it's a journey. In unusual places sometimes, sometimes in the wide open spaces. Estate sales, garage sales, horse shows, rodeos. Sometimes in little country junk stores off the beaten path. Traveling in Mexico, we ditched the common tourist street offerings and ventured in the alleys. All went well, and now you will get to see what I've done with those adventures. I used industrial gear bezels on the top with red crystals, horse reins for the handles and added red crystals on the spider just for kicks! If you want to see more pictures, check out my Hall of Fame page.
I love buying the boots straight off the cowboy! I love to hear confessions of where the boots have been and the personal accounts of being thrown from the back of a bucking bull at the Houston Livestock show back in '88. (That guy had to break his back 3 times before he realized he needed to find another form of entertainment. His boots turned into an awesome bag, though, once I got all the bull shit cleaned off!)
Well, if you would like me to make a purse from your boots and listen to your bull... uh, story about your boots, just give me a holler or fill out the custom order form and let me know the boots are on the way.
Happy Trails!

Every cowgirl needs some sparkle! I just created a beautiful purse from a pair of vintage Tony Lama red patent leather cowboy boots. I added crystals and spur conchos, even on the brow band handle. I'm working on a batch I hope to have done in a few days in so many colors! Sign up for my email subscription to be the first to know when I list them.
Happy Spring!!

I was honored to create a special purse from the boots of a mother that had a 15 year old daughter. She loved to cook and was an avid bike rider. She enjoyed watching her daughter play soccer and the bass guitar. Together they enjoyed the French culture and language. I received her boots from her husband who asked if I could create the cowboy boot purse within a few weeks. As it was the holidays, I told him I would try. I called him 3 weeks later to let him know the purse was complete only to discover his wife had passed away. My heart was crushed that I didn't finish the purse so she could see it and present it to her daughter. I looked at the bag, said another prayer and was inspired to add a "charm chain" to the purse. I incorporated a curb bit chain from a horse bridle and attached a soccer ball, guitar, bicycle and a fleur de lis emblem, along with a miniature spur. At the top of the chain I hand stamped on a metal guitar pick, "heart strings together forever". I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been inspired to preserve memories of those who love. Thank you.... | |
